NGSMedia LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Mic Buddy mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services:

Account Information

When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive:

  • Email Address - Used for account identification and important communications
  • User ID - A unique identifier for your account

Purchase Information

If you subscribe to premium features, our payment processor (RevenueCat) collects:

  • Purchase history and subscription status
  • Transaction identifiers (we do not see your payment card details)

On-Device Processing

Mic Buddy is designed with privacy at its core. The following data is processed and stored EXCLUSIVELY on your device and is NEVER uploaded to our servers:

  • Audio Recordings - All recordings you create remain stored locally on your device only
  • Transcriptions - AI speech to text processing occurs entirely on your device
  • Voice Detection - Gender detection and voice filtering runs locally using on device machine learning
  • Location Names - If enabled, location is used only to generate a place name for your reference. GPS coordinates are not stored.

We have no access to, and cannot retrieve, any of your recordings, transcriptions, or local data. You maintain complete control over this information.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

  • Supabase - Secure authentication and account management
  • RevenueCat - Subscription and purchase management
  • Apple App Store - App distribution and payment processing

These services have their own privacy policies. These providers do NOT have access to your recordings or transcriptions.

How We Use Your Information

The limited information we collect is used for:

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Processing subscriptions and purchases
  • Sending important service-related communications
  • Responding to your support requests

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Account information is retained while your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Local data (recordings, transcriptions) is stored only on your device and can be deleted directly through the App or by uninstalling the App.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • Secure authentication through trusted OAuth providers (Apple, Google)
  • Encrypted data transmission using industry-standard protocols
  • Local data storage keeps your recordings under your control

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access - Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction - Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion - Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Portability - Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have additional rights including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information.

International Users

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws. Our legal basis for processing your information is:

  • Contract performance - To provide you with the App services
  • Legitimate interests - To operate and improve our services

You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

Age Requirements

Mic Buddy is intended for users 12 years of age and older. Users under 18 must have parental or legal guardian consent to use this App. Parents and guardians are responsible for the minor's use of the App and for ensuring compliance with applicable recording laws.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 12 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
